The use of marble as a building material over time has been primarily used for flooring, but also for decorative elements. Elements such as countertops, decorations/statues, and wall coverings. One reason we absolutely love marble is its durability. Marble is an extremely durable material perfect for high-traffic places such as staircases, entryways, bathrooms, and kitchens. In kitchens, marble is a perfect countertop option because of its heat resistance. As a natural stone, marble is a softer material that can be cut into straight lines for countertops and staircases which creates a beautiful aesthetic.

Speaking of a beautiful aesthetic, no marble slab is the same. Marble slabs are like fingerprints and snowflakes, no two are the same. The veining in marble slabs is different because of the mineral deposits which makes each piece unique. One of the most common types of marble is Carrara which has a lighter gray veining and background. Traditionally, people want white marble slabs with light veining to brighten up a space with a light ambiance. However, there are colored marble slabs that often are chosen as decorative pieces or wall coverings in homes. These colored slabs have accent colors such as yellow, pink, gray, and blueish, due to non-limestone materials and mineral changes in the natural stone, which can cause the coloration.
